Mums and mobiles are a pretty solid eCommerce proposition

I’ve written a fair number of blogs, both about the importance of Mums in eCommerce and the importance of mobile in eCommerce.

Well, image what you get when you combine the two!

See, it seems that whilst I thought my mother hadn’t quite mastered her iPhone, turns out the opposite is true.

According to survey data (presented in an infographic of course) from a US blog, BabyBump:

  • 70% of mums shop on their mobile device.
  • The number of mums doing more shopping on their mobiles in 2012 compared to 2011, is up 94%.
  • Moms love apps and social media to help them shop.
  • And true to form, they spend most of their time shopping for others in the family.

 

If I watch my wife – we have two young kids – she shops almost exclusively on her tablet.

She is otherwise on her iPhone.

She does lots of research, she receives lots of emails and she buys quite a bit.

And she’s a Mum.

Point of the blog of course is simple. Know how mums and females buy and what is important to them.

And make it work really well on their mobile and tablet.

If you don’t, they won’t buy from you.
