NSW AMES Launches

Wiliam recently launched a new eCommerce website for NSW AMES. NSW AMES (Adult Migrant English Services) is a NSW State Government department providing English training and literacy services and products to migrants and training centres around Australia and indeed, globally.

NSW AMES quite literally sets the Australian standard for English training and literacy.

The new website allows for a broad range of products, services and licenses to be purchased, including iPhone and Android applications.

The site was built using Umbraco for the content management, and uCommerce for all eCommerce functionality.  The site has a number of different products and variants on offer for their customers. The Publications for example have several variants within one product. This is set up within Umbraco, through a node, where sub-products are added below each product.

 

The site also uses Umbraco’s image cropper tool, which comes in handy if you need to crop four different image sizes on the same screen rather than having to upload four separate images.

 

 

 The back-end also needed to have document role based permissions in their Staff and Partner section based on different member types. Umbraco allows you to setup role based protection for certain pages or documents, where you can select which member types can have access.

uCommerce also offers an in built voucher code system where you can manually make codes, generate them through Umbraco and set a max usage.
