Why a good Producer is importantAdd to My Brief

Building a good website isn’t easy. Buying a copy of Dreamweaver and a $9.95 hosting package isn’t going to cut it if you want a serious and successful site. There is much to be considered; business goals, user goals, a good architecture, technology, SEO, design, development, a CMS, ongoing maintenance… it is a lot to keep track of and you need a professional to do it.

One mistake is to silo these areas out and have one individual do each section and then bolt them together at the end. That doesn’t work. You need a Producer. A good Producer has his or her finger in every pie – they are at once someone that understands what your business wants to achieve, understands how to achieve it, knows technology and what makes a good user experience. They work well with both designer and developer (two very different personalities!) and have used every major CMS ever devised. They are not necessarily the experts in each field but they know enough to keep things together, keep everything on track (and on budget) and are ultimately responsible for delivering the site complete and perfect.

A good Producer can be the difference between just another website and a great website.
