Who cares about your logoAdd to My Brief

Name a purely online company whose logo you can actually recall?  eBay maybe? But then they have external exposure as well. A professionally designed logo is not equal to a good website.

Wiliam designs a lot of new websites for start-up companies and the first question is usually “can you just throw in a logo”. The answer is ‘yes and no’. We can use some simple typographic treatment to give the name of the site in the top left hand corner, but we can’t research graphical devices and colour theory, conduct user groups and spend hours developing a whole brand strategy in the form of a logo!

The real logo is the URL. The URL is what people remember, it is what they email to each other when they like a site, it is what they post on twitter and facebook. A good url is like gold.

Couple that with a good idea, a good offering,  a useable and well designed website and… well, who cares about your logo?
