What are your top websites for 2009?Add to My Brief

Daniel Wright | 14/12/2009

We’ve seen a lot of changes and innovation in the last twelve months and it’s that time of year when we take a look back at what’s made the biggest difference. Time Magazine have published their list of the 50 Best Websites of 2009 and it’s an interesting read.

There are some obvious and perennial choices such as Google, YouTube, etc. But there are some lesser known items like popurls and Metafilter which are worth a look. The California Coastline Project might be a little bit too specific to really get into for some, but I found it an interesting site nonetheless. Personally I find Know Your Meme to be hilarious and a lot of fun.

Of course, 2009 has been the year of Twitter and particularly with the widespread adoption of the iPhone, tweeting is changing the dissemination of information and news, along with allowing the continued warping of cult celebrity status in the modern world.

What about you? What have been your top websites for 2009?
