Call forwarding and ringtones added to new Skype Beta

Less than a week after Skype was purchased by ebay, the VOIP company has released its latest beta version of the popular phone software.

The new Skype Beta includes some interesting features;

  • Improved call quality
  • Call forwarding to mobiles, landlines and other Skype Names.
  • Make calls instantly from Outlook email or Internet Explorer
  • Personalise your Skype add sounds, ringtones and pictures

As Skype now looks towards revenue growth, these new features come with a price tag with ringtones and and pictures costing 1 each. Each forwarded call to a standard phone number is charged at Skypeout rates, however call forwarding to another skype account is free.
