Linkedin for Business (0)Add to My Brief

| 30/06/2008

While the attention is on Facebook, another social networking site has been growing faster and gathering a powerful community of users. LinkedIn has distinguished itself as the Internet gathering place for professionals.

This free site is steeped in corporate flavour; providing the tools for individuals to build contacts, share information, broadcast news, and exchange opportunities. One of its most popularoptions allows users to create groups for event planning and conferences.

Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, was one of the driving forces behind the creation of PayPal and has a depth of experience with web-successful companies. As a former member of Firefox’s parent, Mozilla, it’s no surprise that there are add-ons for LinkedIn with the browser. There is also a mobile functionality to keep connected on the go.

But why not go a step further and bring the power of the LinkedIn to your company’s website by embedding the LinkedIn profiles of key employees directly? A widget like "LinkedIn a Box" will create a display that can be customized with choices in background images, colour, and data to fit in neatly with most stylesheets.
