At Wiliam we..Add to My Brief

We have an office dog. It’s pretty great.

Walking into a building filled with creatives, producers, developers, plants and giant inflatable dinosaurs tends to be a much nicer experience when you are greeted by a friendly mutt.

We all are aware of the ‘studies show’ line that I’m about to whip out so I won’t pretend that you have no idea what I’m talking about or that this news is meant to come as a shock to you BUT studies show that pets keep you sane. I mean honestly, looking at a computer screen for the most part of the day .. that doesn’t drive you insane? No it earns you a living, however who cares much for living when you’re insane? I’ll let you answer that question on your own.

Research shows that while we think that receiving support is a key to happiness, actually, providing support is perhaps even more important. Looking after and even just patting a pet is a comfort for most of us, this is why I think it’s great to have one around whilst working.

A good friend of mine recently came to me with an idea for a social networking website. The social component of this website is to be made up of dog owners. Yep. People who catch their four legged, hairy friends sleeping in hilarious and awkward places. The idea was simple, post a photo, get ‘likes’ or ‘woofs’ maybe, and allow users/viewers to comment on or rate the photo out of something. If dedicating a social networking site to our dogs is not proof enough that they enrich our lives and have a solid positive impact on them then what else is.

A business day is much more enjoyable and productive when surrounded by great people and animals alike. Lets get this happening in more offices, or you could just come to Wiliam and spend time with our awesome people and dog instead, maybe buy a website at the same time.
