Twitter starts testing its own ‘self-serve’ ad platformAdd to My Brief

| 27/01/2011

A really quick post after Australia Day.

A good high-level article in Media Post outlining Twitter’s new self-serve ad-platform.

The platform, currently in its early stages of testing, allows advertisers to build and target ads within Twitter. The technology allows users to target ads via a variety of means.

I read that Twitter’s ad revenue for the past 12-months was $150m, and I have previously written that its experiment with ‘Promoted Tweets’ has apparently been quite successful.

No doubt, the launch of the new Twitter self-serve ad platform will grow Twitter’s reach, and advertising revenue further. We will certainly be suggesting to clients that they allocate some test spend to Twitter before the affiliates tie half of it up.
