Rollyo search engine launches

Recently it seems that search engine giants Google, MSN and Yahoo have been launching a new search related product or service every 5 minutes. While this has been happening, there has also been a recent spate of new search engines popping up, many with a unique feature to stand out from the crowd. One such search engine is Rollyo.

With Rollyo, you can easily create your own custom search engines, and explore and save those created by others. Rollyo uses Yahoo search for results which in my mind is rather skeptical considering Yahoo has a habit of banning legitimate sites.

Even though Rollyo Search has a unique feature, I wonder how long it will be before the do-it-yourself feature appears in the search engine giants.

Why would I want to look at other people's custom search engines?

I disagree with Luke Manion's comments. Search engines results are often out of context. One person searching for "lemon" may be looking for receipes with lemon while another user may be looking for the lyrics of Led Zeppelin's "The Lemon Song". By understand the nature - and context - of a user's particular search engine may deliver significantly more relevant results, over and above what a search engine could otherwise return. The results are relevant, tried and tested.
