How you can incorporate location-based Facebook ads when launching your next Facebook application (0)Add to My Brief

Peter Nguyen | 21/06/2012

According to Bloomberg, Facebook has begun working on real-time location-based mobile advertisements on its iPhone, Android and mobile site applications.

With the launch of Facebook offers recently, retail businesses should start to see how it can work for them. People use Facebook everywhere. While they’re on a train, when they’re waiting for food at a restaurant, during client meetings, or even at the bus stop. They check their news feeds, notifications, if they have any messages or not.

The possibilities of location-based advertising are endless. If someone’s near Hungry Jacks, offer them 50% off a burger. If someone’s inside a shop, tell them to present a voucher to the checkout for 30% off their purchase. Something that will be very easy to implement, can have enormous impact on sales and visitors.

In summary – it’s going to be a real advantage for businesses to take advantage of this when Facebook releases it to the public. Don’t miss out. And make sure you have a mobile website to go along with it.
