There a several answers to the regularly asked question, Why One L in Wiliam.

The Name

Wiliam is named after an Egyptian Faience statuette of a Hippopotamus, the unofficial mascot of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. The statue, nicknamed William albeit with two Ls, is regarded as one of the finest examples of Faience art in the world.

The Wiliam offices contain several reproductions of the original William.

William can be viewed online at the Metropolitan Museum of Art website.

And One L

When Wiliam was formed, its original logo would fit only six letters, W I L on top and I A M underneath.

Although the original logo lasted only a few months, there was never any temptation to adjust the spelling; today, Wiliam with One L is synonymous with the highest quality web solutions in Australia.
