Better way to be creative
Where do new creative ideas come from? Well, there really is no such thing as a new creative idea. Our ideas are 'copied' from a source, then transformed and then combined to create another form.
This is not a bad thing it has been happening forever. You just have to look at Braun's products designed by Dieter Rams (see below) and then the Apple product line. In a way Jonathan Ive copied Dieter Rams' Braun designs but then transformed and combined to progress these designs further. As Picasso supposedly said ' Good Artists Borrow, Great Artists Steal'. This is how we have progressed as a creative society.
We see the concept of Copy / Transform / Combine in web design all the time. A great example is the parallax scrolling which we first saw on the 'Nike Better World' website. From this idea we saw several other sites pop up and with each site the idea was pushed further and improved conceptually. Below are a few nice examples.

So next time when looking for a creative concept, take a look around you. Copy, transform and combine what you want. Just be sure to improve on it and you'll continue to help the creative world evolve for the better.
