The Today show has scared all the mums at home into using Paypal

My (not so secret) shame is I watch the Today show every morning.

And so do about 2.5 million other people a week.

I don't know the demographics of users but "mums at home" have to be up there as the biggest audience.

If you run an ecommerce site these ladies are also your target audience.

Which brings me to this morning's show...

This morning they had a segment titled: Stopping Scammers - use PayPal instead of credit cards.

The segment was about scammers and would have literally scared the life out of any non-technical mother at home watching with Lisa saying:

People are putting down their credit card details to scamming companies, they rip them off and probably sell them to East Africa or somewhere and their credit card is ruined from that moment forward with all their personal details.

This would scare my mother for sure!

The segment goes on to promote PayPal, saying most scammers don't have a PayPal account (for some reason).

I am neither agreeing or disagreeing on whether payment gateways are safe; I am simply saying the mums are scared. They are looking for PayPal options and logos before purchasing.

If you don't have PayPal on your site then you should definitely get it.

It can take up to 1 week of development to integrate at times however it well worth it for the ROI.

PayPal have actually launched OneTouch Paypal which reduces the need for customers to fill in payment or address details between sites. This has been implemented for companies such as Uber, AirBnB and HotelTonight

Just another reason to implement, promote (and update) PayPal integration. 1
