Qantas Cash is best of the best at technology awards
It’s always a nice feeling to have good work recognised by your industry peers. As such, I’m delighted to share breaking news about the new Qantas Card with Qantas Cash® which was recently awarded best in category at Smart Awards Asia 2014.
Nominated under the category for ‘Best Co-Branded Card’ the result was announced at the awards ceremony held at Suntec City in Singapore on 23rd April 2014, just nine months after the initial product launch in August the previous year.
The new card – which was a joint venture between Qantas Airways and Access Prepaid Worldwide / Mastercard – has been rolled out to the Qantas Frequent Flyer membership, as a dual membership card, with a pre-paid multi-currency facility on the reverse side. Wiliam were tasked with the development of the web application for card activation, the brochure-ware and ‘My Account’ transactional sites for cardholders, and also the backend order processing interface. It was one of our largest projects ever and the team behind this are very proud of the resulting application.
The annual Smart Awards Asia honours the best in ‘smart’ technologies, and the new Qantas Card was up against a large range of smart card vendors and technology providers from across the Asia Pacific region. The awards focus on outstanding products that are brought forward from within the industry – and voted on by members within the industry – which strive to push the standards of excellence and overcome barriers in the formation of innovative design, implementations and ‘smart’ initiatives.
At Wiliam we certainly feel that this is one of our goals, and it’s fantastic to be associated with such a cutting edge product and to see our client rewarded and recognised as having a successful product in this way.
