In keeping up to date with current events, business, politics, cats and other information provided by the Interweb there is a plethora of RSS feeds available. Most sites today offer the user a one click solution to subscribe to their sites RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed.

Using a reader such as Google Reader you are able to easily browse all the days RSS feeds from one convenient location. You can, within minutes, be up to date on all kinds of information catered to your own quest for information.

Yet, how many is too many?

Once you get into the habit of subscribing the number of feeds quickly starts to build up. Then there is just not enough time to read all the information. Then you also come across some feeds which seem to duplicate another feeds information. It is easy to also come across a lot of garbage from RSS feeds, which is a common curse of the Interweb today.

Thus a lot of time may be spent simply clicking the ‘mark all as read’ button to try and clear out feeds that you know you will never get to. It takes a bit of will power but if you don’t read the feed over a 2 week period it may be time to let it go and stick to the ones that get the most readership. After all, there is always another site out there with better lolcats.
