What is Hotjar and why am I number 16,936 on the waiting list?
Hotjar appears to be the answer to my analytical dreams. If it follows through then I can delete the vast amount of peripheral analytical accounts and have one source of truth. Excuse my negativity but it sounds like a pipe-dream. Or does it?
I already like the sound of it, here's a few reasons why:
- WhichTestWon recommended it. It's no secret I love these guys and what they do.
- This beautiful infographic. I use every product listed below, replacing it with one would be heaven.
- I like their website, it has answered all my questions without having too much information. It’s a bit mysterious and exciting.
- Their marketing strategy is uncommon and risky. I like it.
- They answered my question in their confirmation email.
Why is there a waiting list you ask?
We are a privately funded startup with a vision to make insights affordable to any organisation - no matter their size. This means that we cannot afford expensive advertising (like our highly priced competitors)... so to make this happen we need your help to spread the word. - It's cheap. Plans are $29 a month and includes unlimited impressions but also unlimited websites (perfect for a Digital Agency like Wiliam!)
- You can recruit user testers on your site, instead of using Air Tasker. This is a great idea of continual improvement and you get feedback from actual customers.
- Along with recordings, heatmaps, funnels, analytics, surveys it also has live chat. Pretty cool.
When I have jumped the cue by 16,936 I shall share my experiences. Watch this space.
Until then, we wait.
