Using Press Releases to Increase Pagerank (2)Add to My Brief

Benjamin Christie | 3/11/2008

Where does your site rank on popular search engines? If you are disappointed with your placement it’s time to focus on search engine optimization. However, this process does not have to be as difficult as it sounds. Wiliam recently had a new domain with a Pagerank of 0 go to Pagerank of 4 just by sending out a press release. You are probably wondering how your can achieve similar results. Here are some of the important things to include in your press releases:

Include Media
Images are typically added to make information more appealing. However, images, as well as other multimedia, can have a positive effect on your Page Rank. Most search engines now offer a dedicated multimedia search. By adding media to your press release, your articles can now be located in these dedicated searches. To increase your visibility even more, add descriptive tags to your multimedia. Media tags are often prioritized by search engines and can help raise the rank of your site.

Choose Your Words Carefully
When constructing your press release you must consider which keywords and phrases users will search on to find your article. You may even want to review the popularity of these terms with Google Trends or other search monitoring sites. This will ensure you are using the most effective keywords. Once you identify your keywords and phrases, use them in the title or body of your press release.

Use Internal Links Often
After you’ve incorporated keywords and phrases in your press release try to identify pages within your site that expand upon those keywords. Embed hyperlinks to these pages from the related keyword. Since search engines often prioritize words found within hyperlinks, this is an easy way to improve your rank. Additionally, this will help provide visitors with more information on your business.
