Matt Cutts and Jagger the recent Google Update

Matt Cutts, a Google Engineer who has been at the search engine for over 5 years is considered the main liaison between Google and Webmasters. Matt who some regard as the “Google Guy” has been writing on his blog recently about last weeks updates called Jagger1 and Jagger2.

Since these updates, there has been a great deal of discussion on Matts blog as well as other SEO websites about both the Jagger updates. It seems that Google has taken onboard the emails from users about SEO spam and removed them. There has also been reports that Google has started sending out warnings to website owners if they become banned.

I suppose the most important thing that Matt wrote about was that there isn’t on large Google wide update, but rather a series of ongoing updates all the time. Matt also mentions that there might be some noticeable PageRank and Backlink changes to be expected in the coming days.

Matt is now indicating that Jagger3 will be undertaken soon and it might be visible at one data center next week.

What can we learn from this? The main point is that Google is always updating and not just updating in the quarterly updates it has done for the past few years.
