How has the internet changed music over the decades: A Visual
Following my blog from last week, where I showed comparisons between music streaming, and digital and physical music collections across the different generations, the below gif caught my eye over the weekend.
Digital Music News has charted the massive changes in how people consume and interact with music over the past 30 years using data from US music sales supplied by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Starting in 1983, where cassettes and LP/EPs dominated, it shows the shift between different mediums as new technologies have developed. In particular, highlighting the way the internet has completely influenced the way consumers interact with music.
