Google Caffeine - Google just got even betterAdd to My Brief

Alex Wilson | 9/06/2010

Today Google has announced the release of the much anticipated Google Caffeine update.

Caffeine boasts a 50 percent increase in fresher web results compared to the last index, a big strategic increase over that of its competitors.

In a world where online content production is rapidly increasing through channels such as Twitter, blogs and forums – Google is now set to index and categorise this content at a much more rapid rate.

This is good and bad in my opinion. The other day I was searching for a factual answer to something and could only find responses that were affiliate links – all trying to push me the same product when all I wanted was some fact on the topic – not a CPA based product recommendation.

The good side however is that we will find real time results appearing more frequently in our searches. Something that is especially handy for breaking news and looking for answers that require timely results. For example I am sure everyone has Google’d a question only to find an answer that is over 5 years old.
