Google Adsense Reveals Profit ShareAdd to My Brief

Alex Wilson | 27/05/2010

As an Adsense publisher, I have always wondered how much of a percentage Google was taking from each ad that was clicked. I was always curious as to just how much money I must have been losing.

WELL! It turns out the magic number is 32% to Google and 68% to the publisher.

Not bad really!

The article can be found here, though the question still remains - was it always 32% or was it only recently increased. I must say, I am noticing an increase in earnings as a publisher since this announcement and would be curious to know if others are also.

About Time! But can we trust their word?

I think I will approach this announcement with skepticism. The reason is, we can never truly know what percentage they are paying the publishers, we can just hope that they are telling us the truth. Well, one might argue "why would they lie, they're the Big G for gods sake". Well, I think they have a really big and nice motive. That's to draw in more publishers into adsense and bring back the old veterans who gave up on adsense. It was the worst about 2-3 years ago. Well, I hope that Google is doing the right thing by publishers for all of our sakes.
