Web for charity

The Web provides a great way for charities to encourage participation from the community at large. With the continuing uptake and improvement of eCommerce and Web2.0 features for Web sites, innovative sponsored Web sites for charities are taking off.

It would seem only logical that the instant global reach of the Internet might benefit charities in terms of the scope of their contact with potential benefactors in worldwide communities.

Charities such as the National Breast Cancer Foundation in Australia report excellent responses to and beneficial results from their Web site.

Leveraging contemporary Web features through implementation of on-line applications for research grants and volunteer roles, on-line auctions and donations, the National Breast Cancer Foundation has seen positive results.

Barnardos Australia performs superb work for underprivileged children, and although their excellent site lacks eCommerce facilities for browsers to make donations, the site is an excellent information repository for promoting community awareness and encouraging feedback.

The Smith Family in Australia has provided assistance to underprivileged and homeless children for many years. This superb charity has also leveraged the Web for community networking and awareness.

The Web is a great way for charities to access an international awareness for their work. Visit some of the links below and make a donation.
