Cudo is a joint-venture between PBL (owners of Channel 9, NineMSN and ACP) and Microsoft. Cudo is a group-buying community whereby merchants offer their products and services at a considerable discount, though only when a minimum number of members of the community have agreed to purchase the offer.

When it came to designing and developing what is a complex and high-transactional architecture – from initiating hundreds of thousands of emails per day through to securing token payments, Cudo turned to Wiliam.

Wiliam Solution

Wiliam researched, scoped and specified the website including custom tools for reports for Cudo administrators.

A highly engaging and usable interface was designed and refined; based on a PCI-Compliant version of sitedock, the website was developed and tested. Given the significant spikes in website traffic to be experienced by the website, rigorous optimisation and load-testing was undertaken.

The website was completed and launched, on-time and on-budget and on-specification. Wiliam continues to partner closely with Cudo on the growth and evolution of the website.

Cudo has very quickly become Australia’s leading group-buying website.

The website boasts hundreds of thousands of happy members, and an underlying architecture capable of very significant and ongoing expansion. Only a few weeks in, and the website has performed tens of thousands of fully automated transactions.

For Cudo, it has meant entering a crowded market with a clear proposition: superior offers for the community, hundreds of thousands of possible customers for merchants and the best website in its class.
